Mr. DURMAZ (Former Turkish Gendarmerie Officer) is CEO of DIFOSE. After graduating from the Turkish Military Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, he worked for the Turkish General Command of Gendarmerie in the Cybercrime and Digital Forensics fields for over 15 years as a law enforcement officer. Mr. DURMAZ is the founder of the first Cyber Crime Center, as well as the Digital Forensics Unit in the Turkish General Command of Gendarmerie. During his 15-year career, he worked both as a law enforcement officer and as a digital forensic expert witness in more than 3,000 Cybercrime and Digital Forensic cases in 81 cities under the responsibility of the Gendarmerie.

Mr. DURMAZ has directed numerous national and international cybercrime cases as head of the Cybercrime Department in the Turkish Gendarmerie. Having extensive experience in the investigation of all levels of cybercrime, Mr. DURMAZ is one of the leading experts in the field of cybercrime investigations on a global scale. Mr. DURMAZ has received national and international special courses and certificates such as Cyber Crime Investigator (NHTCU-London, England), Hi-Tech Crime Investigator (European Union), Digital Forensics (Turkish Gendarmerie), NTFS Forensics (European Union), Mobile Phone Forensics (European Union), Cyber Terrorism (NATO), EC-Council CEI, EC-Council CEH, EC-Council CHFI. In order to broaden his horizons in his profession, he finished two graduate programs: MSc CS in Selcuk University and MPA in Gazi University – with a graduate project of “A Study on Storage Media Acquisition According to Digital Forensic Perspective,” and a thesis titled, “Sociological Analysis of Cybercrime,” respectively. He has been lecturing at Turkish Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy, NATO Centre of Excellence for the Defence Against Terrorism (COE-DAT). Mr. DURMAZ has written various articles regarding cybercrime, cybersecurity, and digital forensics. His last book “Cyber Security: Attack & Defense Strategies” was published in October 2019 in Turkey.
